Melvin Andrew Smith June 30, 1946 - March 3, 2010 Florence, Colorado resident Melvin Andrew Smith died in his home after a long illness Wednesday, March 3, 2010. He was 63. Mr. Smith and his twin brother, Richens were born to Thomas and Isabelle Smith in Delta, Colorado, June 30, 1946. In 1987, he married Linda Schmidt in Florence, Colorado. They were married for 23 years. Mr. Smith earned his bachelor's degree in education from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in 1969 and his master's degree in education from Adams State College in Alamosa, Colorado in 1978.

Mrs. Ruth Eleanor Godfrey, 82, of Canon City was called home by our Lord Monday, February 22nd, 2010. Ruth was born in Providence, RI on September 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Arthur Leroy and Ruth Evelyn (Arnold) Edson. Ruth was a 29 year member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and she enjoyed cooking, crochet, knitting, scrap booking, genealogy, and puzzles. But her favorite things, her God, her Church, and spending time with her family, these are the things that she loved the most.

In Loving Memory Lewis Gene Archer 11/7/1940 - 2/18/2010 ... Lewis Gene Archer Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called home to be with the Lord to end his pain and suffering February 18, 2010. He was born to Virgil Edward and Myrtle Irene (Vaughn) Archer November 7, 1940 in Goodland, Kansas. The family moved to Penrose, CO. when Gene was young. He graduated from Penrose High School in 1959 where he was a star basketball player. As an adult Gene moved back to Goodland, KS. where he farmed for over 20 years.
