Forms are now available for the residents of Fremont County to nominate someone who they feel should be awarded the “Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award.”  This person will be recognized at the Canon City Chamber of Commerce’s annual meeting to be held December 12th at the Abbey Event Center.  Residents should put on their thinking caps and come up with a nominee who has made outstanding contributions in Fremont County in such areas as Community Service, Cultural Activities, Recreation, Civic Service, Youth Work, Religious Activities, Community Promotion, ETC.  The nominee must be a resident of Fremont County and can be nominated posthumously.  You may nominate as many people as you feel are qualified.  All nominations must be recieved at the Chamber office on or before January 6th at 5 p.m.  Nominations become property of the “Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award” committee.  This award is very prestigious and carries the sincere gratitude of not only the Canon City Chamber of Commerce, but also the citizens of Fremont County.  Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award nomination forms are available now at the Canon City Chamber of Commerce office located at 403 Royal Gorge BLVD, or you can fill one out online at www.canoncity.com.  For more information, contact the Canon City Chamber of Commerce at 719-275-2331.
