Mrs. Ruth Eleanor Godfrey, 82, of Canon City was called home by our Lord Monday, February 22nd, 2010. Ruth was born in Providence, RI on September 27, 1927, the daughter of the late Arthur Leroy and Ruth Evelyn (Arnold) Edson. Ruth was a 29 year member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints and she enjoyed cooking, crochet, knitting, scrap booking, genealogy, and puzzles. But her favorite things, her God, her Church, and spending time with her family, these are the things that she loved the most. Ruth is preceded in death by her parents and her son Dennis C Hamm, survived by her loving husband John Godfrey of CO. sons Roger (Janet), Hamm of RI. Robert Hamm, of VA. David (Grace) Hamm, of MA. Duane (Mary) Hamm of RI. and daughters Sandra (Raymond) Pelland of NC., Linda (Jerry) Vorhies of CO. She also has 14 grand children and 17 great grand children Visitation will be Friday February 25 5-7pm at Charles Anthony Funeral Home, Services at Church of Jesus Christ of Letter Day Saints, 1435 Elm Ave Canon City, CO, Viewing begins at 10:30 with services starting at 11:00am on Friday, February 26th.
