Archer obit
In Loving Memory Lewis Gene Archer 11/7/1940 - 2/18/2010 ... Lewis Gene Archer Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called home to be with the Lord to end his pain and suffering February 18, 2010. He was born to Virgil Edward and Myrtle Irene (Vaughn) Archer November 7, 1940 in Goodland, Kansas. The family moved to Penrose, CO. when Gene was young. He graduated from Penrose High School in 1959 where he was a star basketball player. As an adult Gene moved back to Goodland, KS. where he farmed for over 20 years. He came back to Colorado to help his brother-in-law run the saw mill and was a logger 15 years before he retired due to health problems. Even after he retired he stayed busy in his workshop building wood works for his family and friends as long as he could. If you brought Gene a pattern, he'd build it, including a room size doll house for the grand kids and a full size bar at the request of his son. He belonged to the Goodland Elks club for over 20 years. He was also a member of the Colorado Farm Bureau and the Colombian Lodge. Gene was the "favorite" uncle to all of his nieces and nephews who thought the world of him. One of his favorites, Cassidy came to stay with him awhile and Gene was known from then on as "Ole' Buddy- Ole' Pal". He will be missed by his family and friends. He married Regina Baker, and 2 sons were born to this marriage, Virgil and Danny Archer. On July 24, 1987 he married Bonnie Selman in Florence, CO where he resided until his death.
