Senior Mini CollegeThe Fremont Campus-Pueblo Community College will present the 25th Annual Senior Mini College March 22-26, 2010.
The College and the Senior Mini College committee are gearing up for the week-long event and are seeking presentation proposals from potential instructors. Program proposal applications are available at the PCC Fremont Campus or at http://www.pueblocc.edu/Campuses/FremontCampus/Visitors.htm. The deadline to submit proposals is Jan. 30.
The Senior Mini College is a week-long program including courses and hands-on activities for area senior citizens. Presenters at the Mini-College include local experts, artists and other accomplished individuals. Topics are exciting and diverse, geared toward personal growth and life-long learning. Past topics have included: computer use, art, local history, health and wellness, gardening, fossil hunting, financial planning, and safety. There are no tests, grades or credits. The Mini College is open to adults and retirees of all ages. Approximately 350 seniors participate in the Mini College each year.
Anyone interested in presenting a program or setting up a booth at one of the “Resource Days” should contact the College at 296-6107. In order to keep participant costs low, the College and the committee are also seeking donations and sponsors for the Senior Mini College.
